SAYYID MEHBOOB MEHDI

Sayiid Mehboob Mehdi serves as the resident Scholar in Chicago at one of the oldest and prestigious Islamic centers of the United States, the Islamic Education Center. He is closely associated with youth and devoted to organizing them as a vibrant Muslim youth community across America with a strong social, religious, and academic foundation. He is the founder and co-founder of many centers and organizations such as Chicago’s full time Islamic school, Hadi School of Excellence. He oversees many other community projects and is passionate about bettering the community.

ALI RIZVI

  • President

Ali Rizvi is an entrepreneur and a technology enthusiast. He is the founder and president at IEP Incorporated, and the Co-Founder and the CTO at Readivet Incorporated. Before starting his own business, he worked with fortune 500 companies like Microsoft, Kraft, Accenture, and ComEd in various technical and management positions. He has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems and Engineering and a master’s degree in data science from the University of California at Berkeley (in progress).
Ali Rizvi has been a part of the Hadi school board for over ten years. Currently, he presides on the school’s board for this school year. He is happily married with three children. His interests include reading, cooking, traveling, and current affairs.

KUMAIL RAZVI

  • Board Member

Kumail Razvi is one of the founding members of the school. He is a social reformer and an activist engaged in numerous philanthropy projects and community based organizations in various capacities. Professionally, Mr. Razvi has expertise in Education and Technology. He has a Master’s of Science Degree in Electronic Commerce and serves in a leadership position in a financial services organization. For over ten years, Mr. Razvi has also been a Lecturer at DePaul University teaching various computer science courses. Mr. Razvi is also a member of the Board of Advisors at the Mainstay Foundation.

SYED NAQVI

  • Board Member

Syed Riaz Naqvi is one of the founding members of Hadi School. Previously, Syed had volunteered in numerous community organizations as a Board of Directors, Sunday School teacher and special projects coordinator. Three of his children have attended Hadi School. Syed has a passion to serve the community in establishing and growing institutions for future generations in the USA.Syed Riaz Naqvi is a technology professional offering Hardware and Software development consulting to organizations worldwide. In 2000, he co-founded Yamtech to provide solutions to small to medium size businesses.

UMMUL BANEEN KAZMI

  • Board Member

Ummul Baneen graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and Psychology from NorthEastern Illinois University. She has worked at the Disruptive Behaviors Clinic at the Institute for Juvenile research at the University of Illinois in Chicago. She worked extensively with urban youth who exhibited various behavioral challenges. She also completed some post graduate work towards a PhD in Clinical Psychology in a child and adolescent track, but life had other plans so she could not see that to completion.
Her academic background, experience at UIC and life circumstances; lends to a very strong belief in being involved with and championing for children in general and her own in particular. Hence she is grateful at the opportunity to be involved in Hadi school at multiple levels. It serves the additional desire of giving back to the community that has always been generous with its support.

Dr. Ali Naqi Syed

  • Founder
Dr. Ali N. Syed is the founder of Avlon Industries, a globally recognized research and manufacturing enterprise specializing in professional hair-care technologies. He is the holder of more than 45 patents, the author of numerous scientific papers, and the publisher of three books.

Since the inception of Hadi School, Dr. Syed has been an ardent advocate of its
mission and vision. His leadership, pursuit of excellence, and early contributions
significantly strengthened the school’s foundational goals. His service extends to
multiple masjids and Islamic institutions across the Chicagoland area and
beyond, where his commitment to education and community advancement is
widely acknowledged. Dr. Syed remains an active supporter of Hadi School,
providing ongoing leadership and mentorship to its board and administration.

Dr. Safdar Ali MD

  • Board Member
Dr. Ali, a board-certified cardiologist with more than four decades of clinical practice in the Chicagoland region, also serves as a cardiology instructor at Northwestern University Medical School and maintains affiliation with the Saint Mary of Nazareth hospital system.
Since the inception of Hadi School, Dr. Ali has been an instrumental supporter. His enduring commitment, strategic guidance, and valuable contributions have consistently advanced the school’s development, quality benchmarks, and community impact. Dr. Ali is an ardent supporter of Islamic Institutions all over Chicagoland and beyond.

Ali Yousuf CPA

  • CPA
Syed Ali Yousuf is a CPA by profession. For over 45 years he has been a community. leader and helped many religious and educational institutions in the Chicagoland area. He brings in the wealth of leadership experience which was pivotal during the early days of Hadi school. He is an ardent poet and a writer and have translated several Islamic books into English. Soft spoken nature and friendly attitude make him unique and memorable. He strongly believes that early education of a child is vital in supporting mental, social and economic wellbeing, especially in the era of continuous uncertainty and insurmountable challenges. Honored to be a part of advisors of a successful educational school inculcating exceptional education and cultivating in children the fine etiquettes, noble traits of character and manners. The fusion of education and developing moral behavior are barely taught in other schools.

Sammer Abbas

  • Engineer
Syed Sammer Abbas is an electrical engineer, educator, poet, author, and community leader. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and built a successful career in Corporate America, specializing in Power Generation and project management.
Alongside his engineering work, Sammer has devoted decades to education and community service. He has taught and mentored children ages 4 to 18 at Sunday School, serving as both Principal and teacher. A founding member of IEC Husaini of Greater Chicago since 1972, he has continued to serve the organization and is now a Trustee. He also supported the establishment of the Hadi School of Excellence and has served on its Board of Directors since its inception.
Sammer is the founder of Saba Botanical of USA, a company dedicated to natural, herbal haircare products. As a poet and author, he published his first Urdu poetry collection, Rastay Eqidat Kay (The Path of the Believer), in 2013. His second book, Servants of God, a collection of inspirational poetry, is now being released.
Driven by a passion for teaching, creativity, and service, Sammer Abbas continues to inspire people of all ages through his writing, mentorship, and lifelong commitment to doing good.
