CODE OF CONDUCT:

Core Islamic Value and Tenet of the school:

The Hadi School believes the Islamic values and are summarized in this verse of the Qur’an:

The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and

forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give charity and obey Allah and His Messenger.

Allah will have mercy upon them. Verily, Allah is Almighty and Wise. Surat At-Tawbah 9:71

Hadi School is founded on Islamic practices that follow the Qur’an and Ahlulbayt (AS). Students are provided an environment of Sunnah, and the staff attempts to integrate the Islamic perspective into the studies in all subjects.

➢ Our calendar, celebrations, and character lessons revolve around the establishment of an Islamic

personality, the guidance of which comes primarily from our Beloved Prophet Muhammad,

peace be upon him, his family and companions, may Allah be pleased with them, all the Prophets,

peace be upon them all, and Believers of all times, may Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon them all.

➢ Consistent with Hadi School’s goal of developing a culture of integrity and honesty, it is

expected that staff, administration, parents, and partnering community members support the

Islamic code of character and behavior as revealed in the Holy Qur’an, and as exemplified by

the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

The following Belief Statements form the foundation of the policies of the school:

  1. As Muslims, we believe in One God, Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, whose greatest characteristic is His Mercy, in His Books, His Messengers, peace be upon them all, including the Last and Final Messenger, the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, His Angels, the Day of Judgment and life after death, and the Divine Decree.
  2. We believe that the Holy Qur’an is the infallible and final revealed message of Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, to the world, and the Sunnah, or practices and statements of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, are together the final authority of all matters of faith and conduct.
  3. We believe that Allah created man and woman as complementary equals and that sex is binary and biologically determined. Our faith also instructs us that sexual intimacy permissibly occurs only in the domain of marriage, and that marriage is the union of a man and a woman.
  4. We are taught that Allah made us human and knows that we will fall into mistakes. Hope in Allah is at the heart of the Qur’an and Sunnah because Allah loves to forgive. The core of our faith is to believe that He will forgive us, and the more we sincerely try, avoiding despair, the greater our status is in the sight of Allah. A believer shows gratitude in good times and patience in difficult times. Life is a test.
  5. We believe that we must show justice towards all of Allah’s creation. We must show fairness in our relationships, in our financial dealings, and in standing with others who are marginalized. We must take our place as stewards of the natural world.
  6. We exhibit and teach Islamic character, maintain a high academic standard, teach living a disciplined life through exercising self restraint and consideration of others, and support a spirit of collaboration as an Ummah, a community of believers from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, races, and experiences, bound together with a common purpose, to worship Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, and with a common goal to advance the cause of Islam.

MAINTAIN AN ISLAMIC ENVIRONMENT

It is imperative that educators have understanding of the key Islamic value and practice in order that the students are presented with a consistent message and a learning process that conforms to such Islamic practices. Educators should demonstrate Islamic values – meaning teachers and staff must be honest, caring and respectful to other members of the staff, as well as to the students.

All members of Hadi School administration, faculty, staff and students are expected to respect the religious beliefs and ethnic backgrounds of all administration, faculty, staff, parents and students.

Administration, faculty, staff, parents and/or students are not allowed to promote any religious beliefs at Hadi events or to students and/or staff.  Promotion refers to talking about or distributing information about these beliefs and/or on any published medium, including social networking sites.  Religious symbols of any religion other than Islam cannot be worn or displayed, unless they are being displayed for educational purposes and with administrative approval.
